Text Box: Please join us at the NW Boutique Winery Showcase on February 27, 2006! Our first public tasting will take place at this great event at The Canal. We have not finalized our tasting line-up, but we have tentatively decided to offer barrel samples of our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Yakima Valley, Judkins Vineyard; 2005 Merlot, Red Mountain, KB Vineyards; and 2005 Semillon, Walla Walla Valley, Charbonneau Vineyards.  This fifth annual event highlights boutique wineries from Washington state who produce less than 3000 cases per year. We can state from experience that this is a very fun event and well worth the reasonable $30 admission price. Buy now as this event sells out early every year. To register simply 1) e-mail event organizer David LeClaire at winelover99@comcast.net to let him know you are attending and 2) complete your registration by buying your ticket. Not only do you get to taste great wine, but the proceeds benefit Seattle Works. Please note that no paper tickets are issued, names will be on the guest list at the door.

Text Box: Blackthorn Mountain Winery has completed their first official crush! We worked closely with our grape growers, establishing target yields, brix, and a variety of other parameters. We then went directly to the vineyards and helped pick the ripe grapes and then personally transported them back to the winery. We crushed and pressed here at the winery, using our own equipment and methods. We don’t rent or borrow equipment or outsource our crushing. We take pride in paying attention to every detail in making our wine. We will be releasing our first wine in the Spring on 2006 but this first crush is just the beginning!
